Thanks for dropping by my page. My name is Michael Volitich, and I’m a student at the University of Florida taking up Creative Writing with a focus on sports writing. While I’ve always considered myself to be a sports and lit geek, I never thought that I had a knack for writing about the sports world. My style still needs polishing, so I’m currently learning by reading, watching, and listening to everything sports-themed.
When it comes to books, I enjoy reading thrillers, high-fantasies, sports biographies, and autobiographies. I guess even in my choice of books I’m looking for something that will give me a sense of thrill. And even if my recommended class readings seem endless, I enjoy going through them. My coursework can be challenging, but I need to familiarize myself with the literary tradition.
Whenever I can, I make sure to travel. It’s a great way for me to recharge and discover new places. As a writer, the stories I collect on the road provide me with good material that I can use for the future. It’s also an excellent way to meet new friends.
